Beringer has dedicated his career to helping his clients meet their diverse financial needs by providing them with comprehensive wealth management strategies. Now serving as Executive Vice President/Investments in the Darien, CT, office of Janney Montgomery Scott LLC, he is a senior partner with the Beringer Weinstock Group. His conservative approach to investing has allowed him to help his clients weather market volatility and sustain defensive strategies when facing sensitive market cycles. Taking a holistic approach to wealth management, Geoff is also an experienced dicretionary account manager and is committed to being a single source for portfolio management. Though he follows this general investment philosophy, Geoff works with each client individually to map out the best investment course based on their unique current financial situations, future objectives and long-term needs. Customizing every financial plan to reflect these factors, Geoff realizes that no two clients are exactly the same; similarly, he is dedicated to ensuring that no two financial plans are the same. His ability to hone in on his clients' needs is a direct result of a commitment to being detailed oriented and attentive from the very first client meeting. Earning a B.A. in economics from Colby College, he joined Janney in 2007, having previously worked for Advest and Merrill Lynch. In his time away from the office, he enjoys participating in the local Rotary Club, as well as skiing, sailing and spending time with his family - wife, Dana, and their five children. James L. Weinstock has helped investors accumulate, grow and enjoy their wealth, guiding them toward their financial goals with investment strategies that best suit their diverse needs. Today, he serves as Senior Vice President /Investments in the Darien, CT, office of Janney Montgomery Scott LLC, one fo the nation's oldest and largest, regional, full-service financial services firms, and is a senior partner with the Beringer Weinstock Group. Jim's investment philosophy is simple: help his clients achieve their investment goals in a patient and prudent manner. Built upon the foundation of long-term planning, Jim utilizes the latest wealth management tools to structure and analyze well-balanced, diversified portfolios that meet the individual needs of each of his clients. Service is paramount, and he and his team are committed to offering every investor the highest level of consultative, personalized client service. Graduating with a BA in Economics and Politics from Bennington College, Jim continued his professional education while with Advest (now Merill Lynch), earning the Accredited Asset Management Specialist designation from the College for Financial Planning and graduating from the Advest Institute at Harvard. Jim is also an experienced discretionary account manager, specializing in equity and option strategy. With extensive experience as both a Financial Consultant and Branch Office Manager with other firms, Jim joined Janney in 2007, attracted by the Firm's independence. Jim's proven approach and wealth management expertise, has afforded him the opportunity to formerly serve on the Advest Technology Review Board and the Advisory Committee of Hoursesmouth.com, a widely used web resource for professionals in the financial services industry. Jim recently completed the Retirement Income Planning Certificate Program and now holds the Retirement Income Planning Certification. Janney, in conjunction with Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania, designed this intensive program to give Financial Advisors the unique tools to create comprehensive retirement income solutions for their clients. Jim currently resides in Darien, CT, with his wife, Kathleen, and their three children. Over the course of his career, Norman has developed and maintained a service philosophy that focuses on honesty, integrity, and a "client first" approach. As each of his clients is extremely valued, attentive personal attention is paid to each of their financial needs. He focuses his practice by offering his clients a personalized solution of investment planning services including mutual funds, equities, tax-free & taxable bonds, and annuities. Norman was attracted to Janney Montgomery Scott because of the firm's valued and respectable reputation. Prior to joining Janney, he spent two years active in the United States Army. Norman's career also includes experience with a member firm of The New York Stock Exchange. Norman attended Fairleigh Dickenson University in Rutherford, NJ. Norman is the father of two children, three grandchildren, and a husband to Carol, a retired teacher from Danbury, CT schools. As a member of the Beringer Weinstock Group and as a Certified Financial PlannerTM, I am able to assist clients in creating multi-generational financial plans by providing advice and guidance in the areas of estate planning, college education funding, insurance analysis, efficient tax asset transfer and tax minimization strategies. The Beringer Weinstock Group provides a holistic approach to financial planning where we create a customized financial plan that meets the needs of our clients and their families. This strategy allows us to tailor all of our advice to be focused on our client’s goals and aspirations. We work with attorneys and accountants to provide clients with creative strategies to: minimize taxes (current and estate), increase savings with unique retirement plans, transfer wealth efficiently and business succession planning. Throughout the life of the financial plan, we provide clients with guidance and systematic portfolio reviews. We also provide updated information regarding the current investment environment and its potential impact on their current assets.
My previous industry experience includes time spent at Advest which was eventually purchased by Merrill Lynch. After Merrill, I joined Janney to become a member of the Beringer Weinstock Group.
A graduate of Fairfield University, I hold a bachelor of science in Finance. I also hold FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities licenses as well as my insurance, life and health insurance licenses.
